Frequently Asked Questions
Is sign-in required?
No. OpenIntelligence does not require an account to use core functionality.
Where is my content stored?
Documents and knowledge containers are stored locally on your device, and in your iCloud for libraries set to iCloud Sync. You can delete documents and containers within the app.
Does OpenIntelligence send my documents to the cloud?
Ingestion, indexing, retrieval, reranking, and evidence verification stay on-device. On iOS and macOS 27, Apple Private Cloud Compute can be used for final synthesis only after the app shows how much would be sent and why, and receives permission under the selected consent setting. No third-party AI API is involved in that route.
How do I delete my data?
You can delete individual documents and entire knowledge containers within the app. Uninstalling the app removes local application storage.
App Review Notes
Core functionality is available without login or an API key. OpenIntelligence provides an on-device answer path and exposes the route used for each answer. Optional Private Cloud Compute synthesis is consent-gated, on iOS and macOS 27.
